SYNOPSIS: ISLAH ABDUR-RAHMAN, a POPULAR british-BANGLADESHI actor and filmmaker, created a short film called "go BAck To Your COUNTRY", a fictional yet powerful response to the 2024 southport riots in the UK. "HAted By Default" explores how such a film came into existence, highlighting the deep relationship islah has always unwillingly shared with islamophobia, and the constant battle between creativity and injustice that he feels compelled to fight.
